Research Interests

I am passionate about conservation of our oceans through restoration and sustainable aquaculture. I am interested in integrating genetic techniques into aquaculture research with the goal of promoting sustainable seafood and bioremediation options that benefit Hawaiian coastal ecosystems.

Current Projects

My masters thesis investigates the biodiversity of bivalves collected from Pearl Harbor, Hawai'i in order to identify native and non-native species currently living in the historically and culturally important area. Oysters that have the potential to be cultured for seafood or bioremediation purposes will be reared at my current workplace, Pacific Aquaculture and Coastal Resources Center.
