Research Interests

Hawaiian culture has strong roots to the environment and its inhabitants, and has instilled in me a deep respect for all living beings and the processes that connect us. This fuels my love for ecology and desire to learn more about the natural world we live in.

Current Projects

My current masters thesis investigates the movement patterns of juvenile blacktip sharks (Carcharhinus limbatus) and how they relate to environmental parameters. In the 'Elala Biodiversity Lab, I am using genetic analysis for cryptic species ID and verification of my shark tissue samples. (Natalie please confirm this is what I'm doing and change as needed)
