Current Projects

My project is looking at genetic and vocalization diversity in ʻuaʻu (Hawaiian petrel) across Hawaiʻi island. The results of this projects will provide insight into the management of each colony. Finding samples for ʻuaʻu is challenging. They are endangered and nest in remote areas with challenging terrain. In an attempt to increase my sample size I decided to adopt and train a dog for conservation detection.
